At Kastellos, Apokoronas, where the sun meets the mountains, the olive trees of our family estate generously offer us their fruits. Each tree, engraved by time, holds the memory of the land and the people who worked it.

From the "Tsounato" variety, unique in taste and nutrients, an extra virgin olive oil is born with traditional practices. Kastéllo, full of aroma and Cretan soul. A drop of genuine tradition, a taste of the fruits of our land.

Our Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Pure Quality

Our olive oil is sourced from the finest olives harvested using traditional techniques, without the use of plastics, transported to the olives mill and extracted into olive oil (cold extracted) within a maximum of 18 hours of harvest. Immediately after production, the olive oil is transferred to privately owned stainless steel tanks, in a controlled storage area with ideal olive oil storage conditions.

Unique Flavor

As recommended, after approximately two months of storage, it is filtered and bottled in a licensed certified bottling plant, adhering to all international hygiene and safety regulations.

The result is unique! and reveals the responsible work of many people so that you can taste this unique quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Our Story

Our history dates back to the late 19th century, where are grand-grand father Zabetakis planted the first olive trees of our family.

 

The years passed and the estate inherited from our parents Catherine Zabetakis and Lefteris Doundoulakis.

They worked very hard to cultivate the olive trees, bought neighboring land and planted even more olive trees.

By this way, they managed to offer a remarkable farm as an inheritance for the next generations to stay and work and produce on our homeland.

We are Doundoulakis family, a single farming Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) producer.

Our farm is placed at a mountainous village called "Kastellos" at Apokoronas district, Chania, Crete, Greece and we will be happy to visit us and taste our local traditional products.

We guarantee the quality and the quantity of the extra virgin olive oil that we bottle and we ensure  that every bottle meets high standards of taste. Kastéllo EVOO, quality is our cornerstone and mission.

Our family estate is proud to present traditional procedures of olives harvest and Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) production.

Our product is a single-varietal EVOO from an ancient Cretan olive tree variety called "Tsounato".

The olive trees age is more than 150 years old, producing limited quantity of EVOO, full of aroma with smooth - fruity taste and unique nutrients.
